NASA BIBLIYA BA? – ABORTION

13TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME B

LOVER AT THE MARGINS Tales have been recounted about famous people who showed predilection for the simple and the poor around them. In a documentary, the narrator recalled how in entering a banquet hall, Queen Elizabeth of England gravitated towards the waiter, called him by name, and asked about  his family. In the gospel today, Jesus stands out as the paradigm of all true lovers. Yes, Jesus loved all the people he met. But with a love of preference he love those who were weakest, poorest, helpless, and hopeless. Not only did he seek them out. When these people ran after him, sought him, implored and begged something of him, Jesus treated them with utmost respect, overflowing love, and divine favor. This cannot be more illustrated than in today’s gospel. A dying young woman was brought to Jesus’ attention. Jesus readily embarked on his way to the girl’s house, with not a hint of hesitation. In that journey, a suffering woman, whom the doctors gav

BRO. MARCEL VAN: SIMPLICITY 2

The ideas presented here come from the dialogues Bro Marcel Van had with the Lord Jesus, with the Blessed Mother, and with St Therese of the Child Jesus (it is indicated who is speaking or sending the message) with whom he enjoyed spiritual conversations. Brother Marcel’s holy life did not rest on these conversations but rather on his deep love for God, his obedience to his will, and his commitment and service to others. He died as a “confessor of the faith” – one who lived his faith heroically in the midst of trials – in a North Vietnamese Communist prison where he strived to bring joy and faith to his companions, Catholic or not.                     b. simplicity in daily life Marcel: Little Jesus, you call me ignorant, but maybe you are even more so than me. Indeed, you do not know how to sew, you only know the job of carpenter. Jesus: Who told you that? Ask Mary to see if in the past I did not know how to knit clothes with her. I

NASA BIBLIYA BA? – BAWAL ANG ALAK AT MATAPANG NA INUMIN?

ILANG MGA PROTESTANTE AT MGA EVANGELICAL O FUNDAMENTAL CHRISTIANS ANG NAGBABAWAL NG ALAK AT INUMING NAKALALASING. ANG PAGLALASING AY LABAG SA KALOOBAN NG DIYOS. PERO ANG PAG-INOM NANG BANAYAD AT NASA TAMANG LUGAR, TAMANG PANAHON, TAMANG DAMI, AY HINDI BAWAL. GINAWA NG PANGINOONG ALAK ANG TUBIG SA CANA. GINAWA NIYANG DUGO NIYA ANG ALAK SA HULING HAPUNAN. DAKILANG KAPISTAHAN NG PAGSILANG NI SAN JUAN BAUTISTA

Image
MERONG HIMALA!

SOLEMNITY OF THE BIRTH OF JOHN THE BAPTIST

Image
MIRACLE CHILD We celebrate today one of only 3 birthdays in our church calendar. We rejoice at the birth of Christ in December, of his Blessed Mother in September, and today, in June, we recall the birth of John the Baptist. John was an "unexpected child." His parents were long past their prime, already resigned to be a fruitless marriage in their advanced age and physiological incapacity or defects. So, John, though unexpected, became a "miracle child." He was a surprise to his elderly parents, to their relatives, and to the people around them who heard of the good news. And what a miracle John would still be as he continued to live under the influence of the Spirit as he grew, as he embraced his ministry, and as he fulfilled his mission. Destined for greatness, he truly attained perfection in life, as also in death. Acquaintance with John however, does not have familiarity, friendship and relationship with John as its go

NASA BIBLIYA BA? – BAWAL ANG PAULIT-ULIT NA PANALANGIN?

HINDI IPINAGBAWAL NI HESUS ANG PAULIT-ULIT NA PANALANGIN, KUNDI ANG PANALANGING WALANG SAYSAY AT PAULIT-ULIT – VAIN REPETITION BILANG HUDYO, SI HESUS MISMO AY NANALANGIN NANG PAULIT-ULIT. ITINURO NIYA SA ATIN ANG “AMA NAMIN” UPANG LAGI NATING DASALIN. ANG ESPIRITU SANTO AY NAG-UDYOK SA BANAL NA KASULATAN NG PAULIT-ULIT NA PANALANGIN NG MGA MANANAMPALATAYA SA DIYOS. TIWALA PA MORE!

11TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME B

TRUST RATHER THAN CONTROL In an office, the boss liked to keep his door open so that he can see what his staff members are doing, hear their conversations and direct their actions. His people soon became very cautious of what they did and said, and began to mistrust their boss for his controlling tendency. Control is an irresistible temptation. Just because we want to be on top of things, we exhibit manipulative attitudes that make people around us unquestioningly obey our wishes, do what we decide is best for them, or move in whatever direction we steer them to. While we may find satisfaction that we are in control, we also tend to lose our inner serenity, confidence in other people, and faith in the unexpected. Manipulative people are rarely at peace and even more rarely generate spontaneity and joy. The Lord Jesus illustrates in this gospel the unfolding of the Kingdom of God. He also describes to us an attitude that will allow us to enter into
