UKIT SA BATO Sa unang pagkakataon, habang nakikinig sa isang preacher, natutunan ko ang milagro ng Mahal na Birhen ng Las Lajas. Naganap ito sa Colombia (oo, yung lagi nating katunggali sa Ms Universe title hehe). Isang babaeng dukha at ang anak niyang pipi ang naipit sa lakas ng ulan sa isang bundok. Nagtago sila malapit sa mga bato nang biglang nagsalita ang bata. Itinuro nito ang katabing tipak ng bato at sinabi: Nanay, tinatawag ako ng babaeng Mestisa! Nagulat ang nanay nang makita ang napakagandang larawan ng Mahal na Birhen na nagliliwanag; Sa magkabilang panig naroon si Santo Domingo at San Franciso nagdarasal. Isa pang kuwento ang nagsabi na namatay ang bata matapos dapuan ng sakit Ibinalik ng ina ang bata sa lugar at bigla itong nabuhay. Maraming himala pa ang naitala sa lugar. CARVED IN STONE For the first time, while listening to a preacher, I heard about the miracle of Our Lady of Las Lajas. This occurred in a place in Colombia (yes, our annual major competitor for the Ms Universe crown!). A poor woman and her mute daughter got stranded in the mountains during a heavy rain. They took shelter on a rock when suddenly the girl was able to speak. She pointed to a nearby slab of stone, and said: The Mestiza lady is calling me! The mother was surprised to see on the rock a beautiful image of Our Lady surrounded by light And on each side, flanked by St Dominic and St Francis. A follow-up story said that the girl died of an illness and the mother brought her back to the site. Upon reaching the site, the girl was brought to life again. PANGARAP PARA SA PAMILYA Ang Mabuting Balita ngayon ay tungkol sa pamilya at tungkol sa mga pangarap na gumagabay sa pamilya. May panaginip (pangarap) si San Jose na nanganganib daw ang Sanggol na si Hesus. -   Kaya kinausap niya ang Mahal na Birhen at sinabing kailangan nila umalis na -   Kaya kapwa nila dali-daling dinala ang Sanggol na bitbit ang kakaunti nilang pag-aari - Kaya napunta sila sa malayong lugar, nawalay sa pamilya, naging dayuhan Napakahirap siguro pero para sa kabutihan ito ng Panginoong Hesus na kanilang pinangangalagaan. DREAMING FOR YOUR FAMILY Today’s gospel is about a family and about the dreams that guided this family. St. Joseph had a dream that danger was following the Baby Jesus: -         - So he talked to the Virgin Mary and convinced her it was time to go -        - So both parents hurriedly covered the Child and left with the very little they had -        - So they found themselves living in exile, away from home, strangers in a foreign land It was difficult but it was all for the good of the Lord Jesus they were charged to protect.
