FAMILY LIFE
An ideal family is where the
father, mother and children live with love and respect for each other,
resulting in a bright and cheerful home.
A father’s mission is to form and
build strong character in his children and to protect his wife and children
from harm.
A father and mother do the very
best they know how, and then leave the rest in the hands of God.
A periodic family dialogue
between parents and their children is advisable. It is a perfect forum to
discuss their family vision, mission, family core virtues and values as well as
simple house rules and family financial matter in a free-wheeling manner where
everybody is encouraged to participate.
Parents should find time to talk
to their children and listen to their concerns and problems.
Parents should lead by example by
trying to live in accordance with their faith.
Attending Sunday Mass and sharing
lunch together are traditions that forge
family unity.
Family bonding activities like
picnics, reunions, get-togethers, playing together, watching a movie,
dining-out, celebrating family milestones like birthdays, anniversaries,
graduations become memorable moments to cherish.
A family that prays together
stays together.
Don’t spoil your children. Let them
struggle and experience disappointments. They will become confident and
stronger individuals, not weaklings.
Form the values of your children
at an early age, then give them wings so they can have their freedom to fly and
live their own lives.
