  SULYAP SA PAG-IBIG Mt. 28: 16-20       Masasabi nating ngayon ang pista ng pag-ibig, ng Diyos na pag-ibig, ng Diyos na umiibig sa atin. Maraming beses kapag sinabi nating pag-ibig ng Diyos, ang akala natin ay isa lang itong kaisipan. Subalit ang pag-ibig ng Diyos ay hindi nakalutang, hindi katha lamang, hindi kulang sa laman o porma. Hindi iyan tulad ng pag-ibig na paksa ng mga manunula, pilosopo o mga romantiko. Salita lamang, matatamis na salita…   Kapag sinabi ng mga Kristiyano na pag-ibig, ang pag-ibig na iyan ay totoo, kongkreto, tunay. Ang Diyos ay pag-ibig at iyan ang karanasan natin sa ating buhay mula pa sa ating binyag. Ang Diyos ng pag-ibig ay Ama, Anak at Espiritu Santo.   Nang ninais ng Diyos na ipahayag ang kaganapan ng kanyang pag-ibig sa atin, ipinadala niya ang kanyang Anak upang tubusin tayo sa Krus niya at Pagkabuhay. Isinugo din niya ang kanyang Espiritu upang patuloy nating madama at mapagtanto na tayo nga pala ay minamahal.  

    A PEEK INTO LOVE Mt 28: 16-20       Today we can say that what we celebrate is the feast of love, of God who is love, of God who loves us. Many times when we mention God’s love, we tend to think of an idea. But God’s love is not a concept, it is not abstract, something hanging in the air. God’s love is not the sort of love spoken of by poets, philosophers, and dreamers. Words… just sweet words…   When Christians say love, that love is concrete, real, and true. God is love and his love is what we experience in our lives from the time of our baptism. God who is love is Father, Son and Holy Spirit to us.   When God the Father expressed the fullness of his love for us, he sent us his Son to redeem us on the Cross and by his Resurrection. He also sends us the Holy Spirit today to continue feeling and knowing that we are loved.   What is more real than seeing God’s Son hanging on a cross to take our sins on himself and to set us free? What is more

  ANG TAHIMIK NA KALOOB       Kung naaalala ninyo pa, noong Biyernes Santo ipinagdiwang natin ang katotohanan na sobrang mahal ng Diyos ang daigdig kaya ibinigay niya sa atin ang kanyang anak. Ngayon, ipinagdiriwang natin ang katotohanan na sobrang mahal tayo ng Ama kaya ipinapadala niya ang Espiritu Santo sa ating buhay. Kung tutuusin, sa krus pa lang, ibinigay na ni Hesus ang Espiritu, na siyang sinasagisag ng dumaloy na tubig at dugo mula sa kanyang mga sugat sa tagiliran. Kaya ganyan pala magmahal ang Diyos – kumpleto; katawan at espiritu magkasama!   Ang Espiritu Santo ay ang pinakadakilang kaloob ng Ama at ni Hesus sa atin at sa buong mundo. Tuwing tatanggap tayo ng regalo, masaya di ba? Nagbubunyi tayo, pinahahalagahan natin at kinalulugdan natin ang isang regalo.   Gaano ito katotoo sa Espiritu Santo? Alam ba nating ganito katindi ang regalong ito sa atin? Tinuruan tayo na ibinigay na siya sa atin sa Binyag at Kumpil. Kaya sa totoo lang e, kasama natin siya araw-ara

  THE SILENT GIFT       If you remember, on Good Friday, we celebrated the fact that God loves the world so much, he gave us his only Son. Well, today, we celebrate the fact that God loves the world so much, he sends us the Holy Spirit. In fact, on the cross, Jesus already gave the Holy Spirit, symbolized by the blood and water that flowed from his wounded side. So God’s gift is complete – both body and spirit!   The Holy Spirit is simply, the best gift of the Father and of Jesus to us and to the whole world. Each time we receive a gift, it is always a joyful surprise. We rejoice at the gift, we cherish the gift, we treasure the gift.   But how true is this about the Holy Spirit? Are we aware of how great a gift he is to us? We were taught that in baptism and confirmation, the Holy Spirit was bestowed on us. So the truth is, the Holy Spirit is with us everyday.   HINDI SA ITAAS KUNDI SA IBABA…       Apatnapung araw na mula nang mabuhay mag-uli si Hesus. Nagpakita siya at nagturo sa mga alagad upang ihanda sila sa misyon. Binigyan niya sila ng kapangyarihang mangaral sa paraang makapangyarihan at makaaakit maging ng kanilang mga kaaway. Binigyan niya sila ng kapangyarihang gumawa ng kababalaghan, ng himalang di pa nakikita sa mundo, upang maniwala ang mga tao sa kanilang sinasabi.   Kung hindi mahikayat ang mga tao sa salita, mahihila sila ng mga gawa. Kung nahila na sila sa pamamagitan ng mga himala, magkaka-interes silang makinig sa salita. Nasa langit na si Hesus subalit ang kapangyarihang espirituwal niya ay nananatili pa rin sa lupa.   Ang mga tanda na ibinigay ng Panginoong Hesus sa mga alagad ay makapangyarihan: pagpapalayas ng mga demonyo, kaligtasan sa panganib, pagsasalita ng mga wika, pagpapagaling. Kay daming nakatalang ganito sa Bibliya, sa salaysay ng nagsisimulang simbahan, at sa buhay ng mga santo at santa na biniya

Ang nililok na imahen ng Mahal na Birhen ng Rosario ng Fatima na nasa Kapilya ng Aparisyon ngayon sa Fatima, Portugal ay ipinagawa ng isang deboto na si Gilberto Fernandes dos Santos sa tanyag na kompanya Casa Fânzeres ng Braga. Ito ay upang mapagbigyan ang hiling ng mga debotong dumadayo na magkaroon, hindi lamang ng kapilya, kundi ng imahen o estatuwa na maaaring maging tagapagpaalala ng “Birheng nababalot ng liwanag” na nagpakita sa tatlong batang pastol noong 1917.   SALAMAT AT MAY BFF! Jn 15: 9-17       Ang isang tunay na kaibigan ay pambihirang kayamanan. Isipin mo na lang, hindi mo kadugo o kasama sa bahay, pero kay dali mong napalapit at nagtiwala sa kanya! Sa piling ng isang kaibigan, masaya ang bawat sandali, naibabahagi ang mga sikreto, nakakapakinig tayo ng mga salitang nagpapasigla, nagpapakalma, at minsan ay nagtutuwid pa sa atin. Hindi laging magkasundo sa lahat ng bagay, pero masaya ang mga magkaibigan tuwing magkasama at magkakulitan.   Sa Mabuting Balita ngayon, sinasabi ng ating Panginoong Hesus na hindi na niya itinuturing ang mga alagad na alipin kundi kaibigan.   THANK God FOR BFF’s Jn 15: 9-17       A true friend is a rare treasure. Just imagine, how on earth can you feel so close and trusting to someone who does not live in the same house with you? to someone who do not share a common bloodline with you? Yet, with a friend, you enjoy every moment, share deepest secrets, listen to words that encourage, console and even correct you not once but many times. You do not always agree, but you do find doing things together just fun and fulfilling.   In today’s Gospel, the Lord Jesus tells his disciples that he no longer considers them slaves but friends. But I wonder: when did Jesus treat or even call his followers his slaves? Never, I suppose. However, he was playing on the mentality of the people around him, who think of God as distant, indifferent, and uninvolved.
